5 Winter Foods that Burn Fat

We eat what’s in-season and you should too! So, we’ve identified 5 winter foods that are good for you to eat when the weather gets cold and you activity less might not be what is was during Summer!

  1. Dark Chocolate
    If you’re always looking for ways to get more chocolate into your diet, you’re in luck! This food boosts metabolism with caffeine and the antioxidant catechin, but be sure to limit your intake or the health benefits swing in the other direction!
  2. Sweet Potatoes
    This versatile vegetable is everywhere during winter. It packs a good amount of fiber and a hormone known to help regulate blood sugar. However, if you’re as confused by whether it’s a yam or sweet potato… don’t worry!   3. Cinnamon
    We’ve talked about healthy spices and cinnamon was one of them! This spice aids digestion and helps to regulate blood sugar. However, when consumed in sugary desserts or other holiday treats, you can’t expect to see any positive affects on your health.
  4. Pears
    Not only is this delicious fruit packed with nutrients, but similar to  apples, pears contain high levels of pectin, which “limits the amount of fat your body absorbs… .which is always a good thing!
  5. Grapefruit
    This fruit is an excellent source of soluble fiber, which as you know, helps you stay fuller, for longer, so you eat less! Toss some grapefruit segments in a salad or try it broiled for dessert!
