9 Gym No-No’s

Hitting the gym is one of the best things you can do for yourself. You are bettering your mind, body and overall health. What could be wrong with that? Well, dealing with other people who are also seemingly getting healthy can be the x-factor. The bottom line is people need to be aware! We’ve come up with some basic etiquette rules for all of those gym goers who are not aware that they are in a shared space. Feel free to share with those in need!

Talking on the Phone
Put your phone away. No one wants to hear your conversation, and seriously, those around you are here to actually workout. Turn it off, you’ll survive.

Rushing Into Fitness Room
Be polite. Enter the room like a grown up. If you want to be first into the room, make the necessary adjustments in your time. Arrive early. Period.

Excessive Noise
You know these people. Loudly dropping weights, grunting or cheering for themselves. Absolutely unnecessary. Please stop.

Sweaty Betty
Wipe your sweat.Wipe your sweat.Wipe your sweat. Enough said.

Personal Space
Scoot over. If all the bikes are open, no need to sit right next to someone. Same goes for treadmills, and even when using free weights.

Cover Up
No one wants to see your completely naked body jaunting around the locker room. Cover that “S” up stat.

Singing
Good for you, you know all the words to that Rhianna song. Reel it in, no one wants to hear you belting out the jam.

Greedy Grabbers
Share the equipment and the floor space. This is a communal gym, not your own personal home gym. What would your Mom say?

Early Exit
Wait til the end of any group fitness class to leave. The end, not with 5 minutes left. If you know you have to leave a tad early, choose a spot by the door, and exit quietly.
