EatFitFuel respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do (and don’t do) with it.
The short version
We don’t sell your data. We don’t have user accounts, we don’t collect payment information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t run affiliate links. If you email us, we use your email address to reply to you and nothing else. The site uses standard analytics to understand which articles are useful — that’s the extent of it.
Information we collect
Email correspondence. If you email us at stuff@eatfitfuel.com, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use your message to respond and may keep the email thread for our records. We don’t add your address to any mailing list, share it with third parties, or use it for marketing.
Server logs. Our hosting provider (SiteGround) maintains standard server logs that include your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and the time of your visit. These logs are used for security, performance monitoring, and abuse prevention. They are typically retained for 14 to 30 days.
Analytics. We use Google Search Console to understand which of our articles people find useful through search. Google Search Console shows us aggregate data — search queries, click counts, impression counts — without identifying individual visitors. If we add additional analytics tools (Google Analytics, Plausible, etc.) in the future, we will update this page to disclose them.
Cookies. The site sets a small number of essential cookies for WordPress session management and security. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. If you have JavaScript or cookies disabled, the site will still work for reading.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers unless you voluntarily provide them by emailing us.
- We do not have user accounts. There is no signup, login, or profile.
- We do not collect payment information. We do not sell anything on the site.
- We do not use cross-site tracking pixels or advertising networks.
- We do not collect health information about you. The fitness and nutrition guidance on this site is general information for healthy adults, not personalized advice.
How we use your data
The limited data we receive (server logs, analytics, email correspondence) is used to: respond to your emails, keep the site running and secure, and understand which content is useful so we can write more of what helps and less of what doesn’t. We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone except as required to operate the services described above.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of third-party services to run the site:
- SiteGround — our web host. Their privacy policy applies to server-level data: siteground.com/privacy.htm
- Cloudflare — content delivery network and DDoS protection (if enabled at the host level). cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Google Search Console — search analytics. policies.google.com/privacy
- Pexels — stock photo source for article images (no data on visitors is shared with Pexels). pexels.com/privacy-policy
Your rights
If you live in California (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, request deletion, and opt out of the “sale” of your information. We do not sell your information, and the only personal information we collect from you is what you voluntarily provide via email. To request deletion of any email correspondence, write to stuff@eatfitfuel.com with “Delete my data” in the subject line.
If you live in the European Economic Area (GDPR): you have the rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection regarding any personal data we hold about you. Our lawful basis for processing email correspondence is legitimate interest (responding to your message). To exercise any of these rights, email stuff@eatfitfuel.com.
Children’s privacy
EatFitFuel is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at stuff@eatfitfuel.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and adjust the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
