Recipe of the Day: Strawberry Basil Gin Smash

It’s Sunday, I suggest heading out to your local farmers market and picking up the necessary ingredients for these cocktails. It’s strawberry season, so please, make the most of it, I always do! I love this drink because of the fresh sweetness of the berries and the hint of basil~ it is divine! I found this recipe from La Femme Epicure a few years ago, and it is now in my fresh cocktail rotation. Enjoy your day.

STRAWBERRY BASIL GIN SMASH

1 cup sugar
1 cup water

2. Place strawberries in powerful blender with juice from 1 lemon and puree until smooth. If you need a bit more liquid to get a smooth consistency, add a splash of water.
3. Fill glass with ice. Add 2 oz fresh strawberry puree, 2 oz gin, and 1 Tbsp basil simple syrup.
