3 Tips That Will Change Your Fitness Level!

I am a morning person. Always have been. Truth be told, I don’t even use an alarm clock! I suppose I am lucky in that way. I am also an avid fitness person. I workout at least 5 days a week. I always have people ask me “How do you do it”? I have a few tips that I am happy to share!

What is your go to workout?

1. Get with a Group.
I used to run a lot with friends, and then they slowly dwindled, leaving me on my own. While I still got up in the am, it just wasn’t the same. Currently I go to a small private gym that offers classes all during the day. I meet my core group of fitness junkie friends – new friends – there 5 days a week. I know that I look forward to seeing them as much as them me. It feels good to know that we are all being put through the ringer together – camaraderie. My advice is to find a friend to workout with or make new friends along the way that are like-minded and get fit!

2. Do it in the Morning.
Yes, just get up and do it. You are more apt to blow off the workout if you do not get done first thing. Getting my body moving is a great way to set the tone of the day. Fitness also is a known mood enhancer! Another hot tip: Lay out your workout clothes the night before, pack your gym bag, fill your bottle of water – that way there are no excuses to not workout.

3. Count Your Steps
There are so many devices out there – your phone, a wearable device – pick your poison. Then challenge your friends to hit 10,000 steps a day. It’s addictive. I’ve been known to take an extra walk with the dogs and park far away from the market to be the top person on our leader-board challenge!
