3 Simple Stretches for Desk Jobs

Bad things happen when you spend your whole day at a desk… your wrists get strained, your back tenses up and your neck gets stiff. And unfortunately, the effects will only worsen over time. Investing in a standing desk is the first choice, but that’s not always possible, but luckily, there’s a way to loosen up with a few yoga-inspired stretches can help you counteract the effects of spending long hours at your desk. The best option is to perform these stretches throughout the day, but at the very least, after work.

Cat & Cow:
Get on your hands and knees with your shoulders lined up over your wrists and your hips over your knees. If you can, turn your thumbs outward so your fingertips face your toes. Exhale as you arch your back as you look up toward the ceiling. This is called the ‘cow pose‘. Then, inhale as you curve your spine as your look back down to complete the ‘cat pose‘. Alternate between each pose, cat and cow, holding each for as long you desire.
